The Telugu remake of Tamil super hit film Vettai has been launched at Ramanaidu studios.
Yuva Samrat Naga Chaitanya and Super Raja Sunil will reprise the roles of Arya and Madhavan from the original. They would be playing siblings in this movie.
P Kishore Kumar (Dolly) of Konchem Ishtham Konchem Kashtam fame directs the film. Bellamkonda Suresh produces the film. Hansika is being considered as heroine opposite Naga Chaitanya in the film. The unit is in lookout for a heroine opposite Sunil. Talks of Aksha of Kandireega fame being considered as heroine is heard but nothing has been officially confirmed as of now.
The original directed by Linguswami was initially planned as a bilingual with Madhavan being the common actor and Superstar Mahesh Babu playing the role of Arya in Telugu. But due to the busy schedules of Superstar Mahesh Babu the Telugu version was scrapped. Linguswami is remaking the film in Hindi too and it stars Shahid Kapoor and Ali Zafar as brothers.
