Its Thaman once again, after God knows how many albums this summer. And to give credit where it’s due the young music director has been doing a fairly good job barring a film or two. Alright the expectation meter is predictable for this album, can Thaman throw a surprise, lets see.

The album starts off with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja voice and then the song begins which is clearly inspired by a popular Hindi song. Despite the obvious inspiration “Dil Main Baji Guitar” oops “Kajal Chelliva” is a rollicking fun number. It’s followed by what is easily the song of the album “Yaevaindo” sung by SPB. This is the second song sung by the legend for SS Thaman after “O Nadu Washingtonnu” from Greekuveerudu and like the previous number this one is a fantastic listen as well. The arrangements and SPB’s simple but energetic singing elevate the song to a new level.

Lucky Lucky Rai is typical Thaman stuff that is so predictable by now and so Pathikella Sundari, with the later being better among the two. Picturization of the song coupled with the placement in the film would decide the fate of these songs in long run. Padipoyanalla is decent listen with a beautiful second interlude and stanza.

Thaman indeed manages to throw in a surprise in the form of ‘Yaevaindo’ but barring that it’s a typical ‘full of energy with predictable style of music’ kind of album from Thaman. The album stays in public mind as long as film plays in theaters.

Samantha is currently doing a film with Pawan Kalyan and a film opposite Naga Chaitnaya, Manam, and later has two films back to back with Jr NTR, but what after that? Well the actress has decided that she would not be signing any more biggies in Telugu after the completion of these films instead she said that she is looking for some small budget flicks with great roles for her.

Is this the influence of her boy friend or is this the effect of the impending marriage on cards? Whatever it is given her current form at box office she would be missed for sure in biggies if she sticks to her decision. Do you agree with her decision and think she is good enough as an actress to pull off such small offbeat attempts.

Music director Sri of Little Soldiers, Sindhuram fame is back from what can be called a long hibernation with Sahasam. We give him benefit of doubt in terms of expectations because of his long absence. Let’s see what the music director has in store for us.

Dola Dola begins the alum on a positive note, it’s a good number overall, nothing extraordinary or exceptional, just plain simple good number. Version-2 too is similar but sans the good interludes of the version one. Sahasam title track, a jazzy number, is neat but is not something that one would listen in tandem. Add to it, its short length.

But the real highlights of the album are two melody numbers ‘O Kanu Papa’ and ‘Nenunenuga’ reminding us of the music directors past. O Kanu Paapa sung by Karunya is a soothing simple but lovable number. The melody lingers on, long after you have heard it, especially the first interlude with the saxophone. Nenunenuga is another soothing melody with simple but effective arrangements that is bound to create an impact. Once again the first interlude is brilliant here.

Sri delivers and delivers well even after such a long gap. Wish he composed more often.

Rebel Star Krishnam Raju’s latest revelations about his directorial aspirations have send shivers among the Young Rebel Star Prabhas fans. The veteran actor is reportedly going to direct a film Okka Adugu for which he wants to cast Prabhas in it. Ever since this news has been revealed fans are in a complete shell shock as they have been in wet dreams since the announcement of Bahubali.

Well here is a good for those still in shock, Prabhas will not be playing a lead role in the film, ‘if’ it ever gets made, for starters. Even if it does Prabhas will be seen in just a small supporting role. So, it is time to rejoice again, Young Rebel Star fans.

Actress Tamannah was the initial choice as heroine for the movie 1 Nenokkadine when it was in production stages. She refused the film citing date issues and later in her place Kajal was taken. However even Kajal was removed or opted out as her dates were getting tangled with the continuous delays the film had. Finally a newcomer Kriti Sanon was roped in who could always be ready to shoot and at the disposal of the makers.

Now after that incident the Tamannah has been approached again for one of the upcoming films of Superstar Mahesh Babu, Aagadu directed by Srinu Vytla. After an abysmally low start (much lower than Bus Stop) Premakatha Chitram had picked up from its first Sunday. It has from then on gradually built the word of mouth and is growing at the box office from strength to strength. With publicity also joining the word of mouth, the collections have remained steady through out its first week.

And now on its second Monday Premakatha Chitram is resting on this solid base and showing good numbers across the major towns. The movie is now on its way to be a bonafide success at the box office.

Om 3D is the second album of music director Achu in quick succession. Kalyan Ram stars hero in the movie and he is known to giving a free hand to his technicians for the betterment of the film. Lets see what Achu has come up with, this time around, after a engaging soundtrack in DK Bose.

Cheliya starts the album on a fantastic note. The song is classy, instantly addictive with a great second interlude that is sure to give a positive heart-melt kind off feel. Endukila follows next which again is a superb number that is repeatable. Om Theme is fantastic with its grand nature. On the audio itself it elevates the mood big time, if properly utilized the theme would surely be a major plus during the film’s proceedings.

Holi Holi, despite the beats lacks the effect it wants to create, it has a good part in the middle though. Right Now falls in a similar category but this even lacks the mid-section of Holi Holi.

Om 3D is overall a fine album largely helped by the ‘Theme Song’. Once again it’s a short album and the feeling of wanting more kind off lingers on.

Stylish Star Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho has crawled past 30 Cr Worldwide, over the weekend. Thanks to the hike in prices in most of the places and no prominent threatening release, Iddarammayilatho has performed better than expected for the talk it has generated on its opening day. With one more week ahead without any real threat Iddarammayilatho should do well at the lower end.

Allu Arjun has now crossed 30 Cr mark Worldwide back to back with this performance of Iddarammayilatho. Only AP the film is expected to fall short of 30 Cr by a decent margin.

Music director Achu of Nenu Meeku Telusa fame is back after a long gap with two albums (DK Bose and Om 3D) back to back. We love his first album very much and share the same feelings for his first direct Tamil work Maalai Pozhudhin Mayakathilaey (highly recommended if you haven’t heard till now). Naturally then expectations are high from his latest albums. Let’s see if he is able to live up to it.

DK Bose has the music director in his elements with the two songs standing out and a song managing to leave a mark. The rest of the song are fine too but the short length is kind of dampener.

Maula Maula and Padipoya are the two songs that stand out from the album and register an impact instantly. The former has funny lyrics that instantly bring a smile on the face and the melody makes sure that one hits the repeat button. The later has this old world charm associated with it thanks to its simple arrangements that make for a solid listen. Mr DK Bose is a fun listen mainly because of its lyrics. Others as said above are fine but fail in getting that ‘repeat’ going on as a listener.

On the whole Achu delivers with DK Bose. However the satisfaction level is less because of the short duration of the album.

We all know that Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is in Spain, so what’s he doing there, well he’s fighting. No he isn’t in any scuffle there, reportedly, a fight sequence was being canned there as soon as the unit landed there. It could be part of an introduction sequence according to insiders.

Pawan Kalyan and the unit of his forthcoming film are going to be traveling various parts of Europe in the coming days to shoot three songs and small talkie portion. Trivikram Srinivas directs the movie which is still untitled.

Ahem! We guest it was Superstar’s twitter account that got hacked and not him hacking his twitter account post the latest tweet disaster.

Once again tweets from Superstar Mahesh Babu have stirred the hornet nest. His tweets about him not being nominated for his movie Businessman because he cannot attend the function in person due to shoot have triggered venomous response online. The result was a rescue operation on the lines of Suresh Raina, who too faced similar situation earlier in the year. While it was cousin in Raina’s case the blame in the Superstar issue has been bestowed upon a hacker. We hope the Superstar’s phone is safe and secure now post this incident and hope that it doesn’t get hacked once again after another controversial remark.

In the West also the situation was similar for Baadshah like in East. The film starring Young Tiger NTR was bought for a big price of 2.52 Cr and in the end the film ended up collecting 1.91 Cr which means a flop business at box office. Like all other areas this is the highest collection for Jr NTR in this territory as well.

Story:
Four friends decide to have an enjoyment trip at guest house. With great difficulty and a girl friend in tow they reach the guest house where strange things happen. Simultaneously people watch a movie in a theater where the movie going audience gets related to the going on in the cinema. What happens to the four friends at guest and why it happens and what’s happening in the theater and why its happening, is what the basic film is all about.

Performances:
Shankar steals the show with his live-wire energy and comedy timing. Although his RGV act is getting repetitive its still enjoyable as this is the first time he does it in a movie.

The remaining three males and girl (Swetha Pandit), don’t act completely amateurishly or are out rightly poor, but none manage to come up with that extra special thing that could make them standout and noticeable.

Analysis:
Theater lo has an interesting premise where two stories are shown simultaneously in a very clever manner. The idea is good and execution too is alright but at the end of the day one is left with the question, shouldn’t they have done more with it?

The basic story-lines are simple and they are withheld together thanks to the great technical team of Cinematographer, Editor and Music director. First half especially is great example where such strong technical team, manage to make the audience sit through its entirety simply because of their exemplary skills. Even the most mundane and empty scenes, get a sense of excitement because of their work.

However the second half is below par and the flashback shown is very predictable and cliched. That kind of plot is done to death. So that leaves us with the second plot-line that’s running simultaneously which is fine. The final conclusion kind off undoes all the good that happened before it, but still fine because as an idea it’s a fresh one.

Over all Theater lo is passable because of the first half. Better second half could have helped it create a much bigger noise.

Background score by Chinna is excellent. He is the lifeline of the movie as is the editor of the film SR Sekkar. The editing makes the film move at a very fast pace without any lag despite lots of repetitive moments. Cinematography is good too and thanks to the production values (Producer Sai Kiran Mukkamala) it’s the film that doesn’t look like a low budget movie.

Bottom-line: For its interesting idea this one is watch-able once.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s Iddarammayilatho has completed its first week at the box office. The film which opened with mixed talk has performed well if one looks at the number. It is Badrinath all over again for the star only this time the roles of the smaller centers and A centers have been reversed. While Badrinath had a superb run in smaller centers, Iddarammayilatho is having very good run in the A centers. Smaller centers are on constant decline for Iddarammayilatho post Monday.

Iddarammayilatho has collected around 20 Cr in first week in AP and around 23.7 Cr worldwide. The film has created record for Allu Arjun in AP but is second best when it comes to worldwide numbers with Julayi still remaining at the top.

The coming weekend will be crucial for the long run of the film, a good weekend here would take the film past 30 Cr mark easily, on the other hand if it doesn’t have one, it will find it hard to go past 30 Cr mark in the end.

East:
Distribution Price: 2.8 Cr.
Collected – 2.35 Cr.

Young Tiger NTR’s Baadshah was bought for 2.8 Cr in this territory and it has turned out to be a looser here. The film had a record breaking opening on day 1 here (close to a 1 Cr) thanks to some big SG’s and MG’s and post that, it just failed to take off. Despite the loss Baadshah is the highest grossing movie for Jr NTR in this territory.

Hero Sunil seems to have found a new calling card that is giving breaks to wannabe stars or rising heroes. He was recently seen in the film Thadaka with Naga Chaitanya which has propelled the star status of Naga Chaitnaya and now he is reportedly signed for another film which would help an upcoming actor gain foothold.

Sources say that the actor has agreed to star in a new film where he will be seen sharing screen space with upcoming actor Sumanth Ashwin, son of producer-director MS Raju. The film will be directed by none other than Teja and it will be his immediate directorial assignment after the release of 1000 Abaddalu.

He was supposed to be the best from the stable of Dil Raju and was expected to achieve greatness and turn into a big director post the release of Josh. Alas! That was not the case as his debut venture starring Naga Chaitanya bombed at the box office.

The director has been in hibernation since then with talks surfacing now and then about a new film going to sets soon. But it now looks that the director has finally managed to one project that would be on sets soon. This project would star Stylish Star Allu Arjun if dates aren’t an issue otherwise alternative plans are to rope Sai Dharam Tej instead. We have to wait and see who gets to star finally in the film when it reaches to sets.

While this has been the talk in the industry for a long time now, finally the news of differences between sensational director Puri Jagannadh and Power Star Pawan Kalyan are out. Speaking to a daily the director has made his displeasure clear and said that he would not be working with Pawan Kalyan ever again. When asked to elaborate he said that he wouldn’t want to further elaborate the matter as would like to work with other Mega heroes again.

Iddarammayilatho is holding well in all the A centers of the state. The film starring Stylish Star Allu Arjun courtesy its good performance in the A centers is threatening to become his biggest opening in AP for first week beating Julayi. Everything now depends on how the film is going to perform in the coming two days, if it maintains in the same range as today (Day 5) it has every chance to becoming the highest for Allu Arjun. Day 5 of the film is estimated to be in the range of 1.20Cr – 1.25Cr.

Collected – 11.82 Cr

Nizam considered as a weak area for Young Tiger NTR has performed well. It is surprising especially looking at how the film has performed in the stars strength territories. It once again highlights the fact that the kind of movie that a star does always has an impact in the way it performs. An out and out mass movie from Jr NTR would not have got similar collections in Nizam but it would surely have done very well in other territories where Baadshah has under performed.

In Nizam the film has recovered all its investment and is a clean hit without any doubt.

Theater Lo.. is a small film but the ideas with the team are big. A look at the promotional ideas of the unit would make anyone agree to this as a fact. Promotions of a film using stickers on autos and posters as large scale hoardings are pretty commonly done for any big film. What the unit of Theater Lo .., have done is used this promotional device as a promotion for their film. While they have continued with such regular promotions simultaneously they have also released few images containing posters of the film on planes, ships etc. in a mocking sort of way that also creates awareness about this small film.

With unique ideas like these the unit of Theater Lo .. is making sure that they are heard in an industry like ours where the small films usually are overlooked. Through this promotions they are once again showing that it’s the idea that is great not the money behind it. Well, kudos to them for their brilliant and innovative publicity methods.

A huge schedule of nearly 75 days has been planned in London for Superstar Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film 1 starting from June 13. Sources say director Sukumar has planned some huge action scenes for the film there that would look stunning on the big screen. Shooting of the film is currently going on in Hyderabad which also involves heroine Kriti Sanon.

1 is produced under 14 Reels Entertainment banner and is directed by Sukumar. Devi Sree Prasad is providing music for the film which is expected to be quite different from his routine works. Let’s hope that the entire shoot happens as planned and there is no delay in the release of the film which as things stands today is supposed to happen for Dussera festival.
