Will Manoj Registers A Commercial Hit?

The year 2010 has been very good for him with back to back success in the form of Bindaas and Jhummandhi Nadam. For Bindaas he received Special Jury award while Jhummandhi Nadam has been acclaimed by many. Though Vedam a multi-starrer film released in the same year, it was neither successful nor outright failure at box office. It was appreciated by critics as the two main lead actors Manoj and Allu Arjun had come together to do a good film. The film revolved around 5 characters but these two stars have been major attraction due to Tom and Jerry relationship between their elders.
His dream project made under his sister Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna’s banner Manchu Entertainments, Uu Kodatara .. Uliki Padathara (UKUP) has been a prestigious project for him. For this he has roped in Balakrishna for a powerful character in the film along with other well known actors. UKUP is first film for Sekhar Raja as director, audio was released in May but didn’t create any mark, theatrical trailer was also released in the function which got a good response as it contains eccentric actions of Manoj and also clarifies everyone perception that a powerful character has been done by Balakrishna, which though not a full length character but still has the impact.After a year gap and controversies regarding film title with a leading mobile phone company Mr Nookayya(earlier titled Mr Nokia) released with mixed reviews, several shows in multiplexes were cancelled due to controversies but Manoj performance especially in action scenes have been appreciated by many.

Manoj has done some dangerous and real stunts in this film, though it’s not new for this actor as we have already seen him do in Bindaas and Mr Nookayya. If everything goes well for this film then Manoj may get the biggest commercial hit in his career but even a small mistake in any department will leave a negative impact. Also there are continuous releases of crazy projects back to back so it might find it hard to sustain unless it receives positive word of mouth.
